Poor little Dany. She's the epitome of energy, affection and enthusiasm, but it seems she just can't catch a break. The night before her birthday, she was up constantly with a fever that hovered around 104, making her a little delirious and horribly uncomfortable. Because of that, we couldn't really do much in the way of celebration for her big #2. She didn't want to eat her birthday pancakes, and she just sort of played with her birthday Krispy treats. It was very sad to see. She did perk up when it was time to open presents, though.
Dany loves all things Dora these days, and her presents reflected that. Almost every single thing she got was somehow Dora related. She was plenty excited about it, especially this Dora phone that talks to you.
That night, we made some birthday Rice Krispy Treats, and watched her blow out her two candles:
But the best part was listening to her sing Happy Birthday to herself.
Her birthday seemed to be the only thing that cheered her up yesterday. It's hard as a parent to watch your child suffer, but especially on a day that's supposed to be filled with fun! Here's hoping she'll have put illness mostly behind her by the time birthday #3 rolls around.
