Just a few pictures of our Easter festivities.
Not only did we have the regular egg-dying, we also had a Uncle Kevy working with the older kids to do a kind of egg dying called "batik" that involves rubber bands and candle wax. Pretty fancy results.
After all the eggs had been dyed, the kids went for a walk while the adults got everything ready for the hunt. Since we're in the midst of potty-training Rory, she stayed back from the walk, and waiting for the other kids to get back was an acute torture for a two year-old who could see the treats from the back door. But they finally made it back and the hunt began!
Not everyone had an easy time retrieving their baskets, however.
Maisie can thank her tall dad for that one. Rory seemed excited, but somewhat overwhelmed, and didn't seem to understand the urgency the other kids displayed to horde as much booty as they could.
But after some creative rearranging, I think they all ended up with a pretty decent haul.
Happy Easter!
