March is a Great Month For Kite Flying

Last year for Easter, our kids got some kites in their Easter baskets. For some reason, those kites never got brought out and used, and ended up shoved behind a wardrobe and forgotten. Then a week or so ago, Dany discovered them, and has been begging us to take them out for days. Every time it's been windy enough it's also either been raining or snowing, or gusting to 30 mph, but finally Thursday afforded us the opportunity for a maiden run.
The older girls had such a great time trying to get their kites as high as they could.
Unfortunately, being that they are made of cheap plastic, they were rather prone to nosediving. In which case, Dad was always on hand to help toss them back into the air.
Who says white men can't jump? Rory seemed pretty fascinated with the whole exercise, and tried to chase the tails when they were low enough to the ground.
But once they were out of her reach, she spent the majority of her time running off as fast as she could before we could catch her.
And just for fun, here's a little video of Rory dancing while we waited for Dad at the post office.
This chick can groove!
