Happy Easter!

It's become our family Easter tradition to get together the day before to color eggs and stage a little hunt. It makes for some chaos, and some antsy kids, but it's a lot of fun to see what eggs they come up with every year; and by that I don't just mean the kids. Too bad I didn't get a picture of Kevin's "Starry Night" egg. Hello, Faberge!

Once the eggs were dry, the menfolk had the daunting chore of reining in the hyper kidlets while the women took on the task of hiding baskets and candy. Between all of us, we always end up buying way too much stuff, and there just isn't enough space in the yards to get too creative.

Rory was old enough this year to really get into it, and had so much fun chasing after the candy and eggs scattered on the grass. We had to tell her to stop eating everything she picked up in order to keep searching though. The other girls ran around in an egg frenzy, determined to stuff their baskets as full as they could get them.

On a holiday like Easter, I don't even try and police their candy intake. And more and more I'm of the opinion that it's better to eat it all quickly and be done with it than drag it out for months. We still have candy canes, for crying out loud. And last but not least, here be the victors with their spoils. And Rory bailing to go find more.
