The Hunt Is On!

I haven't posted for weeks because we just discovered that blogger has a picture limit, and we'd reached it. For a small monthly fee you can add more storage, but neither Teag or I were interested in paying that, so it took us a bit to find another solution. As such, I have several things to write about, all at once. So brace yourselves for a plethora of posts!

First up, tree hunting! Every year, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the Roger's all pack up and head to the Ashley National Forest to find that one perfect tree that will adorn our living rooms for the duration of the Christmas season. It seems like every year I have a child strapped to me in some form or another, and this year was no exception. Finn was toasty warm inside my coat, and even fell asleep for the majority of our hike, despite the fact that he was being jostled as I climbed up and over fallen trees and snow drifts.
We realized we don't have a hat for him, so he ended up looking a bit Russian in Dad's folded over beanie :). We probably hiked for close to an hour before we found a tree that both Teag and I could agree on, but we both really liked the one we picked. Teag's severely bruised ribs, however, did not enjoy the task of cutting it down.

The other kids hung out in the parking lot with their cousins, enjoying a snowy hill rather than traipsing after us. It was a rather warm day though, and all the bundling up made everyone pretty toasty.
Almost everyone was there, so we took a quick picture with our trees. Only later did we realize that the background is also trees, so you can't really tell what ours look like. Oh well, you get the idea.

Rory was one cool dude on the drive home.

Teag spent a few hours Sunday evening putting lights up, and then Monday night, we spent FHE decorating the tree.
Even Finn got in on the fun.

May you all have as much fun with your trees as we did!
