Shoot 'em Up!

For the past three weeks, Maisie has been studying biographies of Annie Oakley in preparation for a class presentation she was assigned to give. She was supposed to come in costume, with props, and speak as if she really were Annie.

I've been volunteering in Maisie's class all year, and as such, I asked her teacher, Ms. Richards, if I could stay and watch.

Maisie did a fabulous job, and had her whole presentation memorized, even when other kids had to use their cheat sheets. That kid has a mind like a steel trap. She was animated, and engaging, and represented her person well, discussing all of Annie's life, and focusing especially on all the gun tricks she taught herself. I was very proud.
