Birdtastic Baylys

About a week ago, we decided to go visit Tracy Aviary on a rather nice Spring day. None of our kids have been before, and the last time Teag and I remember going was in grade school. So obviously it's been a while. The kids were actually pretty fascinated to discover the different species, and learn about them.
In some parts of the park, the birds are hanging out along the paths. Check out the goose to the right of the pic below.
I think Rory wanted to have some pheasant for dinner.
Finn kept running around yelling "Birdie, birdie!" at every new enclosure.
The kids liked the part with the owls the most, as it had a little tree fort to climb in. We had a hard time getting Finn away from that one.
Although, they weren't terribly pleased to discover that we'd arrived during feeding time. There were dead mice placed on flat rocks all over the place. Rory did impress us with her knowledge that owls are nocturnal however.
Finn started to get a little feisty, and didn't want to follow along with the rest of us, so Teag figured out his own way of wrangling him.
Finn didn't seem to mind :).

The Aviary is honestly much cooler than I remembered, and they're in the process of completing a new enclosure that should be ready in the Fall. The kids seemed to have a lot of fun, and it was a great way to spend some time outdoors.
