One of the first places we stopped at the farm, which was such a big hit last time, was the giant slide. Not sure what the difference was from last time, but this year the slide was anything but slippery.
The kids had to mostly bum-scoot down, which was really sad given how much fun they had before. Maybe the heat made a difference, I don't know. Next, we went to a playground of sorts, made of tubes, nets, and hay bales. The kids were stoked to be able to climb so high, and Finny ended up impressing more than a few nearby ladies with climbing prowess.
Next we hit the Corn Maze, where we tested out a theory I'd heard that you should always turn left when in a maze. It seemed to serve us pretty well, and we made some pretty good time.
I love this next picture of Finn, because it sums up his personality really well. Just charging ahead to take on the world.
Finn got pretty tired from the heat and all the walking after awhile, and needed a lift from Dad.

Then we shot some pellet guns, and threw some hatchets! It was really interesting to see the way the girls split on these activities. Danyn wanted nothing to do with the guns, but went straight to the sharp hand tools, and Maisie and Rory both were eager to shoot, but didn't want to chuck the tomahawks. So weird. Maisie did actually hit a can on her first shot!
Teag and I gave the hatchet throwing a try as well, and I'm proud to say I actually managed to get one to stick.
Next up we did the train ride, where Maisie and Dany opted to ride in the "prison" car. You can see their little hands wrapped around the bars.
And last but not least, the pony rides. Finn was incredibly excited for this, as were his sisters. I love the way he held his hands on the pommel the entire time.
Because it was a school night, we didn't get to visit much with Nate and Elle, but it was good to see them for the short time we had, and fun to see Max and Sam up and walking. Altogether, it was a lovely day, enjoyed by all!
