Independence Day

We started the day off right, with the neighborhood parade, and pancake breakfast. We've been doing this so long, I don't know what it would feel like if we missed this portion of our 4th of July celebrations. After that, the water party of course!
Things started off pretty typically, but then after filling more water balloons than I care to remember, we had an out and out battle... that lasted for about five minutes, or until all those water balloons were gone.
And of course, bomb pops.
That night, we had a BBQ at Kev and Meg's, after which we snuggled in for an outdoor movie. The kids were stoked to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and all the fireworks going off around the neighborhood helped add to the realism of the movie.
We did a few of our own fireworks as well, which included getting all of these sparklers lit at once.
Finn was pretty tired by firework time, and didn't love all the loud noise. He curled up on the driveway like this.
And speaking of tired, Rory and Owen never saw the end of the movie.
We had a great fourth, another one to add to the books!
