Cherry Blossoms at the Capitol

Washington D.C. is famed for its cherry blossoms in the Spring, but Utah's Capitol isn't too shabby either. On the Sunday after conference, my parents invited us to go walk around  the Capitol to check them out. It was a lovely opportunity to stretch our legs after being cooped up inside all day. Teag was languishing somewhere in Texas unfortunately, and was unable to join us. And let me say, the blossoms did not disappoint!

The whole lane was rich with them, vibrant and glowing just like the popcorn popping in the primary song. And it smelled heavenly.

 This next picture is one of my absolute favorites ever. I love this one.

After we got our fill of the blossoms, we ran up and down stairs because we're crazy like that.

Finn took off so he could roll down some hills, but the hills seemed to get the better of him.

And then he got to a point where he absolutely WOULD NOT go up any more stairs. The pose says it all.

We wandered over to Memory Grove and the kids looked longingly at the cool river as it splashed on by.

So Grandma and Grandpa let them splash in the fountains to cool off.

It was a very fun afternoon, and we definitely got some miles in that day! We'll have to make it a point to visit the Capitol again next spring for the cherry blossoms.
